KATHMANDU: In the semifinal match of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup Cricket, Nepal has set a target of 116 runs for Malaysia to secure victory.

Having won the toss, Nepal opted to bat first, posting a total of 115 runs while losing 6 wickets within the stipulated 20 overs.

Dolly Bhatta played a crucial role, contributing 24 runs to Nepal’s score.

The victor of this match, unfolding at Malaysia’s Biomass Oval, will not only secure a spot in the Asia Cup but will also advance to the finals.

In the earlier semifinal, UAE edged past Thailand by 4 runs, securing a place in the championship match.

The triumphant team from the Nepal-Malaysia encounter will also earn the opportunity to compete in the upcoming Women’s T20 Asia Cup cricket tournament.

The Asia Cup will showcase powerhouse teams like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, joined by the two finalists of the Women’s Premier Cup.

For the first time in eight years, Nepal’s women’s team is on the verge of making it to the Asia Cup, the last appearance being in Thailand during the 2016 Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament after overcoming Malaysia.
