Team of 15, including Chiefs and high officials of security forces, reach Chitwan

KATHMANDU: A team of 15, including the chiefs of all four security forces, have reached Chitwan on Sunday afternoon.

According to sources, the team left Kathmandu for Bharatpur aboard the Nepal Army’s Sky Truck NA 064.

The team includes Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Nepal Army Lieutenant General Ashok Raj Sigdel, Nepal Police IGP Basanta Kunwar, Armed Police Force IGP Raju Aryal, and Chief Investigation Director Hutaraj Thapa, among others.

Before departing for Chitwan, the Home Secretary and the security agency chiefs attended a formal farewell ceremony hosted by Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

Immediately after the ceremony, they flew to Chitwan.

Earlier in the morning, they visited Khumaltar to meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed them to intensify the search and rescue operations for the passengers of the buses swept into the Trishuli River by a landslide on the Narayangadh-Muglin road in Simaltal last Friday morning.
