KATHMANDU: Nepal finds itself on the cusp of advancement in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup, with Kuwait setting a target of 74 runs in the quarterfinal clash.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Kuwait faced stiff resistance from Nepali bowlers and could only muster a total of 73 runs.
The match witnessed a captivating display of bowling mastery from Sita Rana Magar, who left spectators spellbound with a sensational hat-trick.
Magar’s impeccable deliveries saw the downfall of Priyada Murali, Marayam Omar, and Amana Sharif Tarik in successive overs, dealing a severe blow to Kuwait’s batting lineup.
Additionally, Kabita Kunwar contributed to Nepal’s bowling prowess by securing two crucial wickets.
Despite efforts from Kuwait’s Priyada Murali and Khadija Khalil, who scored 29 and 13 runs respectively, their team fell short of posting a formidable total.
With the stage set for Nepal’s innings, the team now aims to chase down the modest target of 74 runs within the allotted 20 overs to secure their passage to the semifinals.
