Westerly winds influencing Nepal’s weather

KATHMANDU: The westerly wind is particularly influencing Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces, while there is a partial influence in the Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Local winds are also exerting a partial effect.

As a result, the weather is mostly clear today (Sunday), with some changes observed in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces.

With this year’s monsoon concluding on Saturday (October 12), the post-monsoon season has officially begun.

Meteorologists indicate that rainfall is expected to decrease moving forward.

According to information from the Weather Forecasting Division, the afternoon weather will be partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, including Madhes.

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder or lightning in one or two locations within the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Madhes.

At night, the weather will remain partly cloudy across the rest of the country, with overcast conditions in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, including Lumbini.

Light rain with thunder or lightning is likely in one or two locations over the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
