Monsoon entirely retreats from Nepal

This year’s monsoon made its complete exit from the country on Saturday.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon started retreating from some parts of the country on October 6, with its entire withdrawal occurring on October 12.

The monsoon made its exit to the Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces on Saturday.

This year’s monsoon arrival was delayed by four days from the expected date and took an additional six days for its withdrawal from across the country.

President Paudel offers Dashain tika to PM Oli

President Ram Chandra Paudel offered Dasain tika to Prime Minister KP Oli on Saturday at the President’s residence, Sheetal Niwas.

Prime Minister Oli arrived at Sheetal Niwas to receive the tika and “Jamara” from President Paudel.

In light of the recent disaster, Prime Minister Oli announced that he would only be receiving tika at home and would not be conducting public offerings during Dashain.

PM Oli receives Dashain ‘tika’

Prime Minister KP Oli received the Bijaya Dashami tika and jamara from his father Mohan Prasad Oli at the auspicious time of 11.36 am on the occasion of the Bada Dashain festival today.

On the occasion, PM Oli gave tika and jamara to his spouse Radhika Shakya and members of his family, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

President Paudel receives Bijaya Dashami ‘tika’

President Ram Chandra Paudel received the Dashain tika, prasad, jamara and blessings from his elder brother 94-year-old Dundiraj Paudel today.

The Head of State received the tika and jamara at the President House, Shital Niwas at the auspicious time of 11.36 am today on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami.

After receiving tika, the President offered tika and jamara to First Lady Sabita Paudel and other members of his family at the auspicious time, the President’s Private Secretariat stated.

PM Oli assures support for disaster relief and reconstruction efforts

Prime Minister KP Oli has emphasized that the government was actively working on rescue operations, relief distribution, and rehabilitation efforts following the recent natural disaster.

“The disaster has caused significant damage to crops and homes. Farmers will receive compensation, and efforts to reconstruct damaged houses will commence soon,” PM Oli stated.

He urged disaster survivors to remain assured of assistance while encouraging others to celebrate the upcoming festival.

Bijaya Dashami observed today

The 10th day of the Bada Dasain festival was celebrated all over the country today with great enthusiasm by receiving ‘tika’ and blessings from elders.

The auspicious hour of receiving tika was 11:36 am, according to the Nepal Calendar Determination Committee.

The worship of Shree Durga Bhawani at Dasainghars over nine days concludes formally on the day of Bijaya Dashami after the Abhishekh or sprinkling of holy water takes place marking the beginning of tika.

People receive tika and jamara till the full moon day.

Tika and jamara are considered the auspicious gifts of the goddess Nawa Durga and they signify prosperity.

Dashain helps foster unity, cooperation: Speaker Ghimire

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has expressed belief that the Dashain festival would foster mutual cooperation, harmony and unity in society.

Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami today, Speaker Ghimire wished peace, prosperity, happiness and longevity to all Nepali sisters and brothers living in the country and abroad.

“The victory of truth over untruth and of the divine force over demonic force is the supreme message of the Dashain festival,” he said, reminding its cultural, religious and social values.

Dashain strengthens unity: NC President Deuba

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba stated that the Dashain festival significantly contributes to strengthening unity and harmony among communities and families.

In a message of best wishes for the Bada Dashain festival, NC President Deuba extended his wishes for peace, prosperity, and happiness to all Nepalis.

He also acknowledged the recent disasters caused by floods and landslides, which resulted in numerous fatalities and left thousands homeless.
