Raghuji Pant demands investigation into PR and dual citizenship of govt employees

KATHMANDU: The issue of government employees holding Permanent Residency (PR) and dual citizenship was raised in the House of Representatives.

On Wednesday, CPN-UML lawmaker Raghuji Pant called for an investigation sought by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) into whether government employees possess PR or dual citizenship.

He stated that the letter from the CIAA directing the Prime Minister’s Office and the Council of Ministers to investigate this matter has been delayed.

Pant highlighted that the CIAA had sent a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office to investigate employees with PR and dual citizenship, but no progress had been made.

He questioned the delay from the Prime Minister’s Office.

“When the issue has been raised by CIAA, it has to be handled seriously. Let government investigate the matter and notify parliament with the updates about the PR holder high officials entertaining Nepal government’s facilities and planning to live abroad,” lawmaker Pant said.
