Balen Shah visits Ilam as part of eastern campaign

ILAM: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) senior leader and House of Representatives candidate from Jhapa–5, Balen Shah, has arrived in Ilam as part of his eastern Nepal campaign.

Shah, whom RSP has projected as a future prime ministerial candidate, reached Ilam on Thursday morning. He had filed his nomination in Jhapa on Tuesday and spent Wednesday interacting with voters in the district before heading to Ilam.

During his visit, Shah met RSP candidates from Ilam at the party’s local coordination point in Ilam Bazaar. He held discussions with Bimal Gadal, the party’s candidate from Ilam–1, and Gokul Bahadur Rai, the candidate from Ilam–2.

A large number of supporters and locals gathered to meet Shah, with many seeking photographs and brief interactions with him during his stay in the district headquarters.

According to the party, Shah is scheduled to travel to Panchthar later today. He will attend a public program in Phidim, the district headquarters, as part of RSP’s ongoing election outreach in the eastern hills.
