Eighty percent of election police applicants in Mustang from outside the district



MUSTANG: About 80 percent of the applicants seeking recruitment as election police in Mustang for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 are from outside the district.

According to the District Police Office, a large number of youths from other districts have applied despite harsh weather conditions in the Himalayan region.

Applications were invited in line with the joint procedures of the District Police Office and the Armed Police Force Nepal for the selection, appointment, and mobilization of election police. Eligible Nepali citizens were encouraged to apply under a unified recruitment process.

Out of the total requirement of 312 election police personnel, 266 for Nepal Police and 46 for the Armed Police Force Nepal, 323 applications were received, according to Santosh Basyal, Information Officer at the District Police Office.

He said most applicants came from districts including Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Dhading, Rukum, Rolpa, and Gorkha.
