NC obstruction prompts govt to conclude ongoing session of Parliament: KP Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has announced that the government is preparing to conclude the ongoing parliamentary session due to the consistent obstruction by the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) in recent times.

According to UML Chair Oli, this decision was made following a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ ahead of the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

He further detailed the plans to conclude the parliamentary session and issue the summons thereafter.

“NC’s persistent obstruction of the parliament and their refusal to participate in the lawmaking process have forced us to end the parliamentary session,” he said, adding, “The conclusion of one session signifies the beginning of another. That’s the norm.”

Oli asserted that Congress’s refusal to participate had left no choice but to conclude the session.

The preparations to conclude the parliamentary session and introduce new ordinances have prompted the main opposition parties, including NC and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), to gear up for further protests.
