KATHMANDU: Nepal continued their impressive performance in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup Cricket, securing a second consecutive win by defeating Bhutan.
The match, held at Malaysia’s Biomass Oval, witnessed Nepal’s triumph as they chased down Bhutan’s target of 66 runs, securing victory by 8 wickets.
Nepal achieved the target in just 11 overs and 5 balls, losing only two wickets in the process.
Sita Ranamagar played a crucial role, contributing 32 runs, while Rubina Chhetri added 17 runs to the scoreboard.
Earlier in the innings, Kabita Kunwar scored 5 runs, and Indu Berma managed 1 run before being dismissed.
Bhutan’s bowlers Anju Gurung and Anjuli Ghale took one wicket each but were unable to prevent Nepal from clinching a convincing win.
In the first innings, Bhutan, after losing the toss and being invited to bat, posted a total of 65 runs for the loss of four wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Nawang Choden top-scored with 25 runs, while captain Dichen Wangmo and Chingi Zangmo contributed 17 and 16 runs, respectively.
Nepal’s bowling attack was led by Kabita Kunwar, Sita Ranamagar, Kabita Joshi, and captain Indu Berma, each claiming one wicket.
With this victory, Nepal is set to face Maldives in their final group stage match on Tuesday, aiming to maintain their winning streak and advance further in the tournament.
