One more Nepali youth joining Russian Army dies in war



KATHMANDU: Somesh Sunar, a resident of Pyuthan Municipality-4 Kathewar, died in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.

Devendra Barma, Deputy Chief of Pyuthan Municipality, announced the demise of Sunar.

Barma shared the news through social media, shedding light on the toll the conflict has taken on Nepali youths who joined the Russian army.

Sunar’s death marks the 11th casualty among Nepalis serving in the Russian army, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which had previously reported the loss of 10 individuals.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that approximately 200 Nepalis are currently serving in the Russian army, further stating that four Nepali individuals have become hostages of the Ukrainian army amidst the escalating tensions in the region.
