CIB makes Ram Bahadur Bamjan public after arrest in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The Central  Investigation Bureau (CIB) unveiled details about Ram Bahadur Bamjan on Wednesday, following his arrest in the Hattigauda, Budhanilkantha area of the capital.

In a press conference organized today, the CIB provided insights into the allegations Bamjan is facing, which include murder, causing the disappearance of followers, and engaging in sexual assault.

Upon detaining Bamjan, the CIB conducted a thorough search of his residence, resulting in the confiscation of Rs 30,375,000.

The authorities also seized various items, including foreign currencies, mobile phones, laptops, and pen drives.

The CIB said that the legal proceedings against Bamjan will now advance to the District Court Sarlahi.

CIB Spokesperson SP Navaraj Adhikari said on Wednesday that Bamjan will be ferried to Janakpur by air, and subsequently, a vehicle will be utilized to transport him to Sarlahi.

Bamjan has faced accusations of raping a woman residing as a nun in his ashram in Halkhoriya, Bara.

The case, filed by the same victim, is presently under consideration in the District Court Sarlahi.

The accused in this case will now be subjected to further investigation in Sarlahi.

Bamjan is facing charges of sexual gratification and child sexual abuse with nuns.

An arrest warrant was issued against him by Sarlahi District Court.

His permanent residence is stated as Ratanpuri-12, Nijgarh Municipality, Bara.

Since the issuance of the warrant, Bamjan had been evading authorities until his recent arrest.
