Baluwatar meeting concludes without resolution as NC holds ground on demand

KATHMANDU: Efforts to resolve the parliamentary disruption, undertaken through a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence, have ended inconclusively.

Nepali Congress remains steadfast in its insistence on establishing a parliamentary committee to investigate cooperative fraud cases.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa, and former General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

During the discussions, NC reiterated its stance to block parliamentary proceedings until a committee is formed to probe Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in the cooperative fraud case.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting scheduled for 11 AM this morning has yet to commence.
