KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC), the principal opposition party, has declared its intention to disrupt parliamentary proceedings unless a dedicated parliamentary committee is established to investigate the alleged cooperative fraud case.
During a parliamentary party meeting convened earlier today, NC made the decision, asserting that Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane is directly involved in the purported fraud.
Citing the government’s lack of seriousness in addressing the party’s concerns, NC has issued a stern warning, holding the government accountable for any ensuing repercussions.
“While NC prefers not to impede parliamentary proceedings, it will not hesitate to do so if its demands remain unmet. The government must bear full responsibility for the consequences,” stated Ramesh Lekhak, a prominent NC member.
This development underscores the escalating tension between the ruling party and the opposition, casting a shadow over the functioning of the parliamentary system.
