Civil society leaders demand dismissal of President’s Advisor

Civil society leaders have called for the removal of President Ram Chandra Paudel’s advisor, Chiranjivi Nepal. Advisor to the President has drawn criticism for protesting the decision of the Nepal Rastra Bank to include the ‘Chuche’ map while reprinting 100-rupee notes. Leading figures in civil society, including Nilambar Acharya, Suryanath Upadhyaya, Sushil Pyakurel, and Kanak Mani Dixit, have jointly demanded Nepal’s dismissal from his position. They have argued that his dissent against the government’s actions, particularly his warnings about deteriorating relations with India, undermines national interests. In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the four civil leaders expressed concern that Chiranjivi Nepal’s public opposition in national and international media compromises the country’s dignity and official protocol.

JSP-N split was instigated in my absence: Upendra Yadav

Driven by personal ambitions, this divide was instigated.” He emphasized, “Mere gatherings of two or four individuals cannot legitimize a party split. The party was fractured by those temporarily assuming chairmanship, motivated by personal agendas.” Yadav further said that the registration process of the splinter group is flawed. Upholding law and political ethics, our journey as a party will persist, he added.
