KATHMANDU: The government has promoted two joint secretaries from the administrative and technical services to the post of secretary and appointed them to new positions.
The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to promote Abha Shrestha Karna and Dr Jagadishwar Karmacharya to secretary-level positions.
According to government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel, Karna has been appointed Chief Secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Gandaki Province, while Karmacharya has been appointed Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
Both were promoted from among the candidates recommended by the Secretary Promotion Recommendation Committee based on seniority.
