SARLAHI: The District Administration Office in Sarlahi has imposed a curfew in Barahathwa Municipality, effective from this afternoon until tomorrow morning, following heightened concerns of potential vandalism, arson, and public unrest stemming from a recent protest on Friday.

Chief District Officer of Sarlahi, Komal Prasad Dhamala, stated that the decision to impose the curfew was prompted by the perceived threat to public and private properties and structures arising from the unrest witnessed during the Friday protest in Barahathwa Municipality.

The curfew, in effect from 12:45 today to 8:00 tomorrow morning, delineates specific boundaries: Brahmasthan on the way to Sitapur in the east, Canal on the way to Hazriya in the west, Hanuman temple in the south, and Soti/Chornia bridge in the north.

As outlined by the District Administration Office, no gatherings or movements outside this defined area will be permitted during the curfew period.

The decision to enforce the curfew comes in the aftermath of a fatal incident during last Friday’s local protest, underscoring the need for precautionary measures to ensure public safety.
