Police confiscate 1,300 kilos cannabis in four months in Sunsari



SUNSARI: The Armed Police Force (APF) Number 4 Battalion here has confiscated 1,300 kilogrammes of cannabis in the four months of the current fiscal year starting from July 16.

Superintendent of APF Number 4 Battalion, Samenanda Bajracharya, said this volume of contraband was seized under the Drug Control Campaign launched by the APF Sunsari.

He said the APF personnel mobilized at the border area confiscated the cannabis based on tip-off while it was being smuggled out towards the Indian market through the open border.

The APF also confiscated 91.79 grammes of Brown Sugar, 18 thousand 450 pieces of Traumanil.

SP Bajracharya said the confiscated drugs have been handed over to Nepal Police for its disposal.
