Two missing after car plunges into pond in Sarlahi



SARLAHI: Two individuals are missing after a car, numbered Lu 2 Cha 6758, lost control and plunged into a pond while traveling from Bayalwas in Sarlahi to Gaushala in Mahottari.

The incident occurred in Ishwarpur Municipality-2, Miyankhor in Sarlahi.

According to the District Police Office in Sarlahi, the car was carrying Suresh Mahato from Gaushala Municipality-10, and Ramakanta Thakur from Sonwa Rural Municipality-8.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, the office spokesperson, reported that a third passenger, Janak Yadav from Gaushala-2 in Mahottari, managed to escape by swimming to safety.

Spokesperson Pranay Shrestha noted that when the initial search and rescue team was unable to locate the two missing individuals, a diving team was dispatched from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 2 Chinnamasta Bahini in Bardibas.

It appears that the car veered off the road and fell into the pond adjacent to Saraswati Higher Secondary School.
