PM Dahal prioritizes legal amendments to boost foreign investment

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the government’s commitment to prioritize legal amendments aimed at attracting foreign investment.

Addressing the 57th meeting of the Investment Board Nepal on Thursday, Prime Minister Dahal, also the Board Chair, highlighted the importance of legal reforms to facilitate both domestic and foreign investment in Nepal’s infrastructure and service sectors.

He stressed the necessity of sending a clear message to the international community that Nepal is conducive to investment.

With the upcoming Investment Summit, he emphasized the urgency of promoting Nepal as an investment-friendly destination.

The Prime Minister urged government agencies to focus on efficient service delivery to attract foreign investors, emphasizing the need for tangible results.

Furthermore, he called upon the Investment Board to intensify efforts to create an environment conducive to large-scale private investment, which he sees as crucial for rapid economic growth and transformation.

In addition, Prime Minister Dahal emphasized the significance of fostering public-private partnerships (PPPs) in Nepal and directed the Board to work towards enhancing such collaborations.

He also stressed the importance of orienting government bodies at all levels about implementing PPP projects effectively to yield positive outcomes.
