34 districts, including Kathmandu, at high risk of flooding



KATHMANDU: Thirty-four districts, including those in the Kathmandu Valley, are at high risk of flooding today.

The Flood Forecasting Division has issued a cautionary advisory for residents in these areas.

The Division reports that river flow is expected to increase substantially in several districts, including Ilam, Jhapa, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Kaski, Lamjung, Gorkha, and nearby regions.

There is also a potential for sudden surges in some of these rivers.

Residents are urged to maintain vigilance and stay on high alert.

The Division has also noted a risk of increased river flow today in Sunsari, Morang, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Terhthum, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Rukum (East and West), Surkhet, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Kalikot, Bajura, Bajhang, Achham, Doti, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Darchula, and adjacent districts.

Residents living near riverbanks are particularly advised to remain vigilant.
