U19 World Cup: Nepal loses to India by 132 runs

KATHMANDU: In the ICC U19 World Cup cricket match held under the Super Sixes category, Nepal faced defeat against India on Friday.

In the game concluded on Friday evening, India defeated Nepal by 132 runs.

Responding to the target of 198 runs, set by India, Nepal managed to score 165 runs while losing 9 wickets in 50 overs.

For Nepal, captain Dev Khanal contributed 33 runs with two boundaries in 53 balls. Durgesh Gupta scored 29, Arjun Kumal made 26, and Deepak Bohora scored 22 runs before being dismissed.

However, Gulshan Jha and Bishal Bikram KC were out at 1 run each, and Dipesh Kandel and Deepak Dumre could not open their accounts. For India, Soumya Kumar Pandey took four wickets, while Arshin Kulkarni claimed two wickets.

Prior to this, India, after winning the toss, had scored 197 runs while losing 5 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

For India, Sachin Das played a magnificent century, scoring 116 runs off 101 balls. He hit 11 fours and 3 sixes during his innings.

Additionally, Uday Sharan also played a century inning, scoring 100 runs off 107 balls with 9 fours.

Nepal’s Gulshan Jha took 3 wickets, and Akash Chanda took 1 wicket.
