KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has decided to forgo the Bhaitika celebrations this year.

RSP leader Deepak Bohara stated that Lamichhane, who is in custody on charges of misappropriating cooperative funds, will not participate in the traditional ritual.

Bohara explained that Lamichhane will not celebrate this year due to his sister’s illness and the other sister’s work commitments.

Lamichhane was arrested at the party office on allegations of misappropriation of cooperative funds. He is currently in police custody in Kaski.

Although Lamichhane’s statement was completed on Wednesday evening, he will not be presented before the Kaski court during Tihar, due to holidays.
