KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has reaffirmed what he said “unwavering commitment” to conduct a thorough investigation and take decisive action against all individuals implicated in the recent gold smuggling case.

To recall, approximately one quintal of gold was illicitly transported through the Tribhuvan International Airport on July 18 and subsequently discovered in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.

The Department of Revenue Investigation, with the assistance of Nepal Police, successfully seized the smuggled gold.

In light of the gravity of the matter, Prime Minister Dahal has personally pledged to ensure that the investigation reaches its conclusive stages and delves deep into the root causes of gold smuggling.

During a meeting of the Maoist Center’s office bearers on Monday morning, one of the party’s leaders revealed that Prime Minister Dahal is committed to taking stringent measures against all involved in this illegal activity.
