ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier: Nepal bowling against Singapore

KATHMANDU: The ICC T20 World Cup Asia region qualifiers commenced with Nepal’s decision to bowl first against Singapore, at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

The Nepali team sees a change as spinner Sandeep Lamichhane makes a return to the squad for the Asia region qualifiers, while Lalit Rajbanshi takes a place on the bench.

With high aspirations of claiming the title, Nepal is keen to begin the T20 World Cup Asia region qualification by securing a convincing victory over Singapore.

In Group A, Nepal is joined by Singapore, Oman, and Malaysia, while Group B consists of UAE, Bahrain, Hong Kong, and Kuwait.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

The stakes are high, as the two teams that succeed in reaching the final will secure their spots in the T20 World Cup next year, scheduled to be held in America and the West Indies.

All eyes are on Nepal, which is slated to play all their 16th round matches at the TU Ground, with its second match scheduled against Malaysia on Tuesday and an encounter against Oman on Thursday in the final match of the group stage.
