KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of monsoon winds in conjunction with a low-pressure area located northwest of the Bay of Bengal.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, reports that provinces such as Koshi, Bagmati, and western parts of Madhesh province are currently witnessing varying degrees of rainfall, ranging from partial to moderate.
Today afternoon, some hilly areas of the country, as well as a few locations in other regions, are expected to receive light to moderate rain, accompanied by partial to moderate showers, as predicted by the Division.
Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning occurring in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces later in the afternoon.
Moreover, during the night, there is an expectation of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in certain areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Considering the potential risks associated with heavy rainfall, such as floods, landslides, and soil erosion, the Division has urged people to take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves and minimize damages.
