ACC Men’s Premier Cup: Karan KC takes five Kuwait wickets



KATHMANDU: Karan KC took five wickets over Kuwait in the semi-finals of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup undergoing in Kathmandu.

Kuwait is under pressure after Karan KC took five wickets in the first semi-final being played at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

While chasing the target of 281 runs given by Nepal, Kuwait lost 6 wickets after adding 37 runs in 8.3 overs. Karan KC took five wickets and Sompal Kami one wicket for Nepal.

In the first over, KC dismissed Adnan Idris of Kuwait. Then in the next over, Kami bowled Parvinder Kumar LBW.

In the third over again, KC had Mit Bhavasar caught out by Lalit Rajwanshi. Rajwanshi took an attractive catch.

After that, KC dismissed Ravija Sandaruwan in the fifth over and dismissed Siraj Khan in the seventh over. KC completed his five-wicket haul by dismissing Mohammad Aslam in the ninth over.

The game has now been stopped due to rain. Nepal’s innings was also reduced to eight overs after the game was stopped due to rain.

Earlier, Nepal scored 281 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 42 overs. Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla scored the fifties for Nepal. Paudel scored 94 off 95 balls and Malla scored 57 off 44 balls.

Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel scored 43, Aasif Sheikh 31, Aarif Sheikh 19, Sompal Kami 13, Karan KC seven, Sandeep Lamichhane five, Lalit Rajwanshi two and Bhim Sarki one.

For Kuwait, Mohammad Aslam and Adnan Idrees took three wickets each, and Yasin Patel and Sayed Monib took one wicket each.
