Meeting of 10-party ruling coalition underway at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: A meeting of top leaders of the ruling coalition to finalize sharing of ministries is underway at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar.

It should be noted that a meeting of the top leaders of the three parties held at the Prime Minister’s official residence Baluwatar on Tuesday ended inconclusively.

“The meeting is discussing issues, including cabinet expansion, among others,” Baluwatar sources said.

According to the source, the leaders ate likely to finalize the sharing of ministries.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is preparing to expand the cabinet today itself after the meeting.

“If the meeting ends on a positive note, PM Dahal will most probably expand the cabinet today itself,” the source added.

Even though Prime Minister Dahal has already taken the vote of confidence, the expansion of the cabinet is being delayed due to the lack of agreement between the parties of the ruling coalition.

The ruling coalition includes Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Unified Socialist Party, and others.
