Loan shark victims’ demands cannot be addressed immediately: Home Ministry



KATHMANDU: The government has made it clear that the problem concerning the loan shark cannot be solved immediately as several laws need to be amended to address the victims’ problems.

A team of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Kedarnath Sharma, who reached the demonstration site in Kathmandu to take initiatives to solve the problem concerning the loan shark victims, said that the problem cannot be addressed by the current law and the ministry is taking initiatives for the same.

Speaking to the media, Sharma said since the problem of loan shark victims is a long-standing one it cannot be solved in a moment.

The victims, who arrived in Kathmandu on Monday after walking for 11 days, protested in front of the Tundekhel on Monday and started protesting again this morning.
