SIRAHA: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party, has called upon the federal government to heed the voices echoing from the “Save Kamala Campaign,” a movement initiated for the preservation of the Kamala river, flowing along the border of Siraha and Dhanusha.

Speaking at a program commemorating the fifth anniversary of the “Save Kamala Campaign” organized by the Kamala Watershed Conservation Campaign along the banks of the Kamala river, Lamichhane emphasized the need for collective efforts in advancing this campaign.

“Local youth and intellectuals have dedicated years to the campaign, aiming to protect the environment and secure the future for generations to come,” he said adding, “The question now is whether this plea has reached the central authorities.”

He said, “My party is committed to ensuring that this voice is not only heard but also acted upon.”

Lamichhane also pledged that, if his party were to assume governance, they would take decisive action against the construction company responsible for the stalled Kamala bridge project, which has remained in limbo for 12 years.

Additionally, he vowed to persistently advocate for the resolution of the bridge construction issue.
