ACC Men’s Premier Cup: Nepal to play against Kuwait in semi-finals

KATHMANDU: Nepal has to face Kuwait in the semi-finals of ACC Men’s Premier Cup cricket undergoing in Kathmandu.

The list for the semi-finalists to play the Premier Cup has been completed with the completion of the Kuwait vs Hong Kong match played at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Kuwait defeated Hong Kong by 30 runs in the final match of Group ‘B’ at Mulpani based cricket ground to complete the semi-final tie.

Chasing the target of 273 runs set by Kuwait, Hong Kong were bowled out for 242 runs in the last ball.

With the win, Kuwait reached the last four, while Hong Kong got eliminated.

From Group A, Nepal became the group winner and Oman became the runner-up and reached the last four. Kuwait, who defeated Hong Kong on Thursday, became the runner-up of Group B and reached the last four. UAE won the group.

Now in the semi-finals, there will be a match between Nepal and Kuwait and UAE and Oman. Both semi-finals will be held next Saturday.

In group A, Nepal scored 7 points while Oman secured 6 points. Similarly, in Group B, UAE and Kuwait scored 6 points each. UAE was ahead in run rate. Hong Kong with 5 points was eliminated.

The final will be held next Monday and the third-place competition will be held on Sunday.

The team that wins the final of the tournament will qualify for the Asia Cup.

In the Asia Cup, the Premier Cup champions will be drawn into a group consisting of India and Pakistan.
