SINDHULI: Two individuals lost their lives in a collision involving a motorcycle and a bus in Sindhuli.

Sindhuli DSP Chiranjivi Dahal stated that the incident occurred on the BP Highway in Sunkoshi rural municipality-3 Bohoretar of Sindhuli, around 8:30 am on Monday.

The victims, identified as 20-year-old Susan Rai from Khotang Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-2 and 18-year-old Munakala Rai from Khotang Diktel Municipality-10, were riding a motorcycle with registration number Ba 60 P 3545.

The accident transpired when the Bagmati Province-01-006 B 4593 bus, en route from Manthali to Kathmandu, collided with their motorcycle.

DSP Dahal informed that both Susan Rai, the motorcyclist, and Munakala Rai, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, succumbed to the impact of the collision.

Subsequently, the bus driver, 24-year-old Rupesh Adhikari from Manthali-13, has been taken into custody.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this incident.
