Manang Air pilot Sedhai, injured in helicopter crash, passes away



KATHMANDU: Pilot Prakash Sedhai, who was injured in a helicopter crash of Manang Air in Solukhumbu on October 14, passed away.

Yograj Kadel, the Spokesperson of the Airlines Operators Association, confirmed his demise at the National Burn Center in Mumbai, India, during the course of his treatment.

Captain Sedhai was flying the Manang Air (9N-ANJ) helicopter during the accident in Solukhumbu.

After initial treatment at Hams Hospital in Kathmandu, he was transferred to Mumbai for specialized care.

According to medical reports, 45 to 50 percent of his body, including his mouth and limbs, suffered severe burns.

His lungs, spinal cord, and kidneys were also impacted, ultimately preventing his recovery.
