Acharya, who tried to self-immolate in front of Parliament House, dies

KATHMANDU: Prem Prasad Acharya, who tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire in front of the Federal Parliament building on Tuesday afternoon, has died.

Acharya died on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital in Kirtipur.

37-year-old Acharya, a resident of Suryodaya Municipality of Ilam, attempted self-immolation by sprinkling petrol on his body in front of Parliament House on Tuesday.

Acharya was rescued by the police and taken to the hospital.
