RPP decides not to be proponents and supporters of presidential candidates

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided not to sit as a candidate’s proponent and supporter in the presidential election.

The nomination of candidates for the presidential election is scheduled to be registered on Saturday.

Chairman Rajendra Lingden, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, informed that the Central Executive Committee meeting held today at the Party Central Office, Dhumbarahi, decided not to join for the proposers and supporters of the candidates in the presidential election.

According to Lingden, the next meeting of the RP Central Executive Committee will be held on March 7. He informed that a decision will be reached from the March 7 meeting about whether to vote in the presidential election or not. Voting for the presidential election will be held on March 9.

There was a dispute within the RPP on whether to vote in the presidential election. However, the leaders have also claimed that this decision has been reached unanimously.
