KATHMANDU: Dipendra Singh Airee’s explosive performance during Nepal’s clash with UAE has earned him the well-deserved title of “Man of the Match” in Monday’s match played under Tri-nation T20 International Series.
Batting at number six, Dipendra showcased his prowess by amassing 40 runs from just 15 balls.
When Dipendra joined the crease, Nepal was facing a challenging situation. After 15.3 overs, Nepal had reached a total of 110 runs, and Dipendra took the crease as the sixth wicket, following the dismissal of opener Asif Sheikh. At that point, Nepal required 55 runs from 33 balls to secure victory.
Dipendra made his intentions clear right from the start, launching a powerful six on his very first delivery. He continued to press on, displaying a relentless determination to steer Nepal towards victory, leaving UAE’s bowlers taken aback.
While Asif Sheikh contributed a valuable half-century to Nepal’s innings, it was Dipendra’s electrifying performance that ultimately proved “match-winning.” As a result, he was rightfully bestowed with the “Man of the Match” award.
