KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane expressed concern over the youth being compelled to seek opportunities abroad due to the actions of leaders from traditional political parties.

In an address in Syangja, Lamichhane emphasized the party’s commitment to a mission labeled “2084,” emphasizing the selection of qualified leaders for the greater good rather than personal gain.

He urged party members to identify and support capable individuals, affirming a stance against candidates relying on wealth or unethical practices.

Lamichhane pointed out the economic and employment distortions contributing to the current crisis and criticized nepotism in political contracts.

He drew attention to leaders’ offspring, questioning their ability to marry extravagantly and celebrate in five-star hotels while citizens struggle to send their children abroad for medical treatment, reflecting the disconnect that led to electoral losses.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of awareness among leaders, Lamichhane asserted that the party’s consciousness remained intact.

He credited the effectiveness of his team for the party’s potential to address challenges.

“I have scrutinized the salaries paid over the last 8/9 months and questioned the opulence of certain individuals. I am determined to scrutinize the financial accounts of key figures,” he announced, highlighting his commitment to transparency.

In a perplexed tone, Lamichhane questioned the electorate’s continued support for leaders from the old party, despite their children and grandchildren seeking opportunities abroad.
