Tractor accident claims five lives in Rukum West



RUKUM WEST: A tractor accident occurred in Athabiskot Municipality of Rukum West, resulting in the loss of five lives from the same village last night around 10:30 pm.

Eight others sustained injuries when the tractor (Ra 1 Ta 14) met with an accident near Ijakhola of Athbis Municipality-10 in the district.

The victims have been identified as Lok Bahadur Shahi, his wife Luki Shahi, Bardar Sarki, Dhanram Sarki, and Nirmala Sarki, all residents of Aathbiskot-10 Naula.

Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the accident occurred as the tractor, en route from Radi of Aathbiskot municipality to Gharti village, may have encountered difficulties negotiating a turn on the winding road.

Nepal Police, and local residents collaborated in the rescue efforts, evacuating the injured last night.

The accident victims were promptly taken to the Athbiskot Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention.

Reports from doctors treating the injured reveal that three out of the eight individuals are in critical condition.
