Former King Shah urges for peaceful coexistence with nation and its people

KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has put forth a suggestion to refrain from any form of aggression towards the nation and its citizens.

Extending his warm greetings on the occasion of Bada Dashain, the former king emphasized, “We must avoid any harm to befall our nation and our people – this is our shared aspiration.” He highlighted the importance of moving forward with the right values that the people have expressed and chosen.

The former king expressed concern about the lack of enthusiasm and happiness in Nepal since the transition to a republic, urging everyone to take heed of this situation.

He noted that there have been no notable positive developments in the past fifteen years and that a considerable portion of the population resides abroad. He went on to say, “The people of Nepal have not experienced excitement or contentment during this decade and a half. A significant portion of our population resides outside the country, and both those who have left and those who have remained feel the pain of separation. The toll includes high costs, illness, sorrow, and hunger.”
