Man arrested for allegedly killing spouse
A man allegedly killed his spouse by hitting her with a piece of firewood at Sirijunga rural municipality-3 in Taplejung. Laxman Chamling of Sikaicha has been arrested for allegedly attacking his spouse Nisha Rai, 31, with a piece of firewood and killing her on Tuesday evening, according to the District Police Office, Taplejung.
Nepal can be a prime destination for Yoga-related study: PM Dahal
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said Nepal could be a prime destination for worldwide researchers to carry out Yoga related studies. In his address to a main function of the International Yoga Day-2080 organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology today, PM Dahal said Yoga was a priceless treasure of Nepal and the Yogmaya Ayurveda University that was envisaged for natural environmental cause should take an academic lead in the area as a credible educational space.
First international commercial flight lands at Pokhara Int’l Airport
The first international commercial plane landed at Pokhara International Airport today (Wednesday). The narrow-body A319 of Sichuan Airlines from Chengdu, China, carrying passengers, including athletes participating in the Nepal China Dragon Boat Race Festival to be held on June 23 and 25 at Phewa Lake in Pokhara, landed at Pokhara International Airport at 9:06 am today.
Two die in Baglung jeep accident
Two people died in a jeep accident in Baglung on Wednesday morning. Two people died when a jeep (Ga 1 Cha 9485) heading toward Baglung Bazar from Galkot met with an accident in Kathekhola Rural Municipality-5 in the district.

Nepal’s public debt over Rs 2,173 billion
Nepal’s public debt liability has exceeded Rs 2173 billion.
As per the statistic presented by the Public Debt Management Office, Nepal has been obliged to pay its public debt amounting to over Rs 1099 billion 720 million towards internal debt and over Rs 1073 billion 520 million towards external debt as of May 15 of the current fiscal year 2023/24.
These statistics were unveiled at a time when issues were being raised in the parliament that the deficit budget is introduced, the public debt would continue increasing and thereby further increasing the burden of obligation to pay the principal and interest in the annual budget of the government.
Yog should be revived: Chair Oli

CPN UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has expressed worry over Yog vanishing from Nepal. Yog is helpful to advance Nepal, he argued.
