Six injured in Tata Sumo accident in Nuwakot



NUWAKOT: Six passengers got injured when a Tata Sumo carrying 13 passengers met with an accident at Gurje of Nuwakot on Sunday.

The incident occurred as Ba 1 Ja Tata Sumo, traveling from Kathmandu to Dupcheswor-6, Samudratar, met with the accident at Gurje this morning.

According to sources, the vehicle veered off the road suddenly when the driver left for the toilet without applying the ‘hand brake’. The vehicle fell 300 meters down from the road.

DSP Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, Nuwakot, mentioned that some passengers managed to exit by opening the vehicle’s door. He added that most of the injured individuals are children.

All the injured are currently receiving treatment at Grande International Hospital, with one individual in critical condition, as per the police.

The Sumo was carrying 13 people, including the driver.

The police stated that an investigation is underway to apprehend the driver and take necessary action.
