KATHMANDU: In the ongoing T20 series featuring Nepal, Hong Kong, and UAE, Hong Kong handed Nepal a manageable target of 95 runs to chase.

Opting to bowl first at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Thursday after winning the toss, Nepal’s strategic move restricted Hong Kong to a meager 94 runs, with just three balls left in their innings.

Yaseem Murtaza emerged as the leading scorer for Hong Kong, contributing 36 runs, including 2 fours and 1 six off 36 balls.

On the other hand, Zeeshan Ali added 17 runs, while the remaining Hong Kong batsmen struggled to reach double figures.

Surprisingly, a total of nine batters, including the starting five of Hong Kong, failed to make an impact in double figures.

Nepal’s Karan KC made a significant impact, dismissing Hong Kong captain Nizakat Khan on the very first ball.

Karan proved to be a formidable force, claiming three wickets in the early overs of Hong Kong’s innings.

The team lost four crucial wickets, managing a mere 20 runs during the powerplay.

Nepal’s Karan KC maintained an impressive form throughout the bowling innings, securing four wickets and conceding only 15 runs in four overs.

Additionally, Sompal Kami and Abinash Bohara each took two wickets, contributing significantly to Nepal’s dominant performance.

In the preceding match, Nepal secured a convincing victory against UAE by seven wickets on Wednesday.

The upcoming fixtures include a face-off against Hong Kong on Saturday, followed by a match against UAE on Monday.

The tournament’s climax will witness the final showdown between the top two teams at the summit of the points table.
