Birgunj metropolis to gift motorcycles to Arif and Asif



BIRGUNJ: Two members of the Nepali National Cricket Team will be awarded motorcycles by the Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality.

Opening batsman Asif Shiekh and all-rounder Arif Sheikh, were members of the national cricket team that qualified for the 2023 Cricket World Cup global qualifiers after winning the last leg of the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2 series that concluded on Thursday.

The Sheikh brothers are residents of Birgunj.

Mayor of Birgunj metropolis, Rajeshman Singh, said that as the role played by Asif and Arif in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 is worthy of awards, they are gifted a motorcycle each.

The performance by both the players was a matter of pride for Birgunj, and hence the municipality decided to honour them, he said.
