KATHMANDU: Nepal has bagged a victory against Namibia in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 series undergoing in TU Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur, Kathmandu.
Opener Kushal Bhurtel scored a century to defeat Namibia by two wickets in the match played on Tuesday.
The target of 286 runs given by Namibia was met by Nepal after losing 8 wickets in 47.4 overs. For this, Kushal Bhurtel scored 115 runs off 133 balls by hitting 4 sixes and 10 fours, among others.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat, Namibia scored 285 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Namibia challenged Nepal to 286 runs with Michael van Leegen scoring 133 and captain Gerhard Erasmus adding 56 runs.
Karan KC took 5 wickets, Sandeep Lamichhane 3 and Sompal Kami and Kushal Malla took one wicket each for Nepal in an effort to contain Namibia cheaply.
