RPP to remain neutral in Koshi Province’s Chief Ministerial race

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced its decision to refrain from endorsing any candidate for the Chief Minister’s position in the Koshi Province.

In a meeting held today, the party concluded that none of the candidates seeking the party’s support met the criteria warranting their endorsement.

Following the meeting, RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha emphasized the party’s thorough assessment of the situation in Koshi province.

“We are closely monitoring the developments,” Shrestha stated.

“While two contenders (Indra Angbo and Kedar Karki) have garnered equal support with 47/47 signatures, we have not found it necessary to throw our weight behind any particular candidate. However, we remain open to reassessing our stance as the situation demands.”

Within the ruling coalition in Koshi, both Indra Angbo of the Maoists and Kedar Karki of the Nepali Congress, supported by the CPN-UML, have staked their claims for the position of Chief Minister.
