German citizen arrested with 6 kg hashish at TIA

KATHMANDU: A German citizen has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with more than 6 kg of hashish.

Police arrested the German national, Paul Rist, on Monday morning as he was set to fly to Stuttgart from Kathmandu via Istanbul by Turkish Airlines.

He had hidden the hashish in a suitcase wrapped in carbon paper.

Police recovered the hashish from his luggage and handed it over to the Narcotics Control Bureau.

Police said further investigation is underway.
