Nepal’s captain Rubina makes record by taking 5 wickets in Fairbreak



KATHMANDU: Rubina Chhetri, the captain of the Nepali national cricket team, has made a record performance in the ongoing Fairbreak Invitational T20 cricket tournament in Hong Kong.

Rubina of Barmy Army team scored 32 unbeaten runs while taking five wickets in bowling against Safires Women in today’s match.

Rubina became the first player from the Associate Nation to take five wickets in this Fairbreak T20 cricket tournament. She was declared the player of the match.

Barmy Army won the match by 61 runs in Rubina’s all-round performance.

Barmy Army, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 168 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. For which Rubina hit 1 four and 2 sixes in 25 balls and made 32 unbeaten runs.

Chasing a target of 169 runs, Safires was bowled out for 107 runs in 15.5 overs. For which Rubina took five wickets.

She took five wickets in 4 overs with 1 maiden at the expense of only 11 runs. Sita Rana Magar of Nepal is playing along with Rubina in this competition.
