Court grants 7-day-extension of detention of Lalita Niwas Land Grab Case suspects



KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has been granted a 7-day extension by the District Court, Kathmandu, to maintain custody of the 20 individuals apprehended in relation to the embezzlement of government land at Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar.

As the investigation into the case of illicit land ownership progresses, the CIB is actively scrutinizing government documents to uncover any organized criminal activities.

Among those currently held in CIB custody are Min Bahadur Gurung, the proprietor of Bhatbhateni supermarket, and former election commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah.

These individuals, along with 20 others, have been implicated in the alleged unlawful appropriation of government land by assigning it to private individuals.
