Both Houses of Federal Parliament scheduled to meet today



KATHMANDU: Meetings of both houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to take place today.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the House of Representatives will convene at 11:00 am, while the National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 1:15 pm.

The House of Representatives will begin discussions on the Appropriation Bill, 2083. The Secretariat stated that budget allocations under various headings of several ministries will be discussed in a grouped manner.

As per the agenda, lawmakers will deliberate on the budget allocations of several ministries under the Appropriation Bill, 2083.

The ministries scheduled for discussion include the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment; Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies; Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development; and the Ministry of Forests and Environment.

The House will also discuss the budgets of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Likewise, deliberations will be held on the budget estimates of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration; and the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly will hold a general discussion on the government’s annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to respond to questions and concerns raised by lawmakers during the discussion on the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
