Govt bringing new Tourism Act



KATHMANDU: The government is preparing to bring a new Tourism Act, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati said.

Minister Kirati said the new Tourism Act will be contextual by revising several issues of the existing Act.

“We need to change the Tourism Act. I am working with the Tourism Act that was drafted before I was born,” he said adding that the relevance of the Act was over.

He also vowed to visit Pokhara city to solicit feedback from hoteliers and tourism business community for the drafting of the new Act.

Likewise, he shared that the ministry was working to bring immediate plans and programmes based on the necessity, adding that Nepal’s tourism products would be publicized in the international market with new themes.

Similarly, he viewed for branding and rebranding of Pokhara’s nature and cultures for its promotion in the international market and earn the foreign currencies.

Minister Kirati also asked the tourism entrepreneurs to deliver quality services.
